Student Applications

To apply to the 2015 Alberta Pianofest as a participating student, please provide the following items:

1. Completed application form – 2 paper copies

2. Recording of the applicant’s playing – 1 CD (or online video)

3. Application fee (non-refundable) – $25

Instructions:


1. Completed Application Form: Please fill out the application form (typed or neatly hand-written) and mail 2 PAPER copies to the above address. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. download application form (PDF)

2. Recording of Applicant’s Playing:

1 compact disc preferred. CD must be playable on standard stereo equipment and not require computer software to play.

Alternative: 2 youtube videos. To send a video instead, check “youtube” box on application form – upon notification of receipt of the application, applicant will at that time be requested to email youtube links to director.

CD or video recording repertoire must include two contrasting, classical piano works from different style periods. Recordings must have been made within the past 2 years.

CDs and CD cases must both be labeled with the applicant’s name and age. CDs will not be returned to applicants after decisions have been made. If sending youtube links, include applicant name and age in email when prompted.

Previous Alberta Pianofest Students: If you attended the 2013 festival, the recording requirement is waived. However, sending a recent recording with the 2015 application is advised.

3. Application Fee: $25 cheque or money order made payable to the Alberta Pianofest Society in either Canadian or U.S. (for American applicants) dollars. All application fees are non-refundable.

Students will be notified via email by APRIL 15, 2015 as to the success of their application.
